Current Visa Requirements

Work Permit (Z Visa)

Basic documents required as below

  • Original passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of application, with 2 or more blank visa pages.

  • Applicants holding the third countries passport have expired South African visitor visas, should make a copy of their entry SA stamp and download the notice related visa extension from SA government website.

  • The new version of the application form using the online system and download and print it by full colour (www.visaforchina.org) and sign all pages (Please make sure that the uploaded photo passes the system inspection. If it does not pass the inspection, visa center cannot accept the application)

  • Copy of passport, copy of last Chinese visa, copy of residence permit

1. Other required documents for Z visa applicants

-If both the residence permit and the work permit card have expired, please reapply for the Notification letter of Foreigner’s Work Permit -Employment letters from Chinese employer

S1 visa applicants

-Invitation letter from immediate family member working based in China. An invitation letter that contains:

a) Information of the applicant (incl. full name, gender, date of birth, passport number, etc.); b) Information regarding the visit (incl. purpose of visit, intended arrival date, intended place(s) to stay, intended duration of stay, relationship between the applicant and the inviting party, and details of any financial support to be provided during the stay in China);

c) Information of the inviting party (incl. name, contact telephone number, address,

-If notarized documents cannot be presented due to national lock-down, the original can be provided for verification and a letter of explanation is compulsory -For those who are under the age of 18, both parents or legal guardians must sign the application form and present an affidavit of consent letter signed by both parents or legal guardians which has been issued in police station or by lawyer and stamped. And the copy of the parents’ passports or ID cards

Q1 visa (Notice from visa officer)

-An invitation letter provided by a Chinese citizen contain: a) Information of the applicant (incl. full name, gender, date of birth, passport number); b) Information regarding the visit (incl. purpose of visit, intended arrival date, intended place(s) to stay, intended duration of stay, relationship between the applicant and the inviting party, details of any financial support to be provided during the stay in China); c) Information of the inviting party (incl. name, contact telephone number, address, signature of individual).

-Copy of Chinese ID (both sides of ID Card) provided by the inviting parties -Copy of the certificate of kinship (marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc.) with the main applicant or the inviter in China, and provide the original for verification -Please provide a copy of the relationship to prove that the dual certification has been done in any Chinese embassy or consulate, or a letter of explanation if this is not possible -If notarized documents cannot be presented due to national lock-down, the original can be provided for verification and a letter of explanation is compulsory -For those who are under the age of 18, both parents or legal guardians must sign the application form and present an affidavit of consent letter signed by both parents or legal guardians which has been issued in police station or by lawyer and stamped.
