Who can get a Visa?
Current Chinese Embassy policies in South Africa are quite restrictive - the Visa center only will only accept limited visa applications. NOTE: Even if an application is accepted, this is no guarantee that a Visa will be issued.
Acceptable applications:
Work visa applicants who work for National university, high school, junior high school or the high-manager of the company, and hold a work residence permit which is expired after 2020.03.28, and want go back to the same school or company. If the work residence permit expired before 2020.03.28, then the applicants should provide a PU letter.
Family members accompanying category I applicants to China.
Emergency Humanitarian Visa. (Family member in hospital or dead close relative)
Not acceptable:
Teacher Applications for those working at private schools, training schools, kindergartens, teachers for under grade 7's will not be accepted. The teachers should provide an invitation letter from the school, which includes a detailed job description.
First time applicants for a work visa will not be accepted. This includes applicants changing jobs, who want go to China to work for another different company.
Family members not accompanying an applicant. - If the main applicant is currently in China, then dependent visa's will not be accepted.
The Embassy/ Visa Center recommends not booking tickets until you get a Visa.
After you get the visa, please follow the requirements of the COVID-19 test notice on the Chinese Embassy (http://za.china-embassy.org/eng/sggg/t1828314.htm) and (http://za.china-embassy.org/eng/sggg/t1828312.htm)
